Outstanding Teacher Programme
Who is it For?
The Outstanding Teacher Programme is for teachers who are either good, or have features of outstanding practice, and are keen to develop their skills to become outstanding. The course aims to help teachers:
- Consistently demonstrate outstanding practice.
- Have a deeper, more informed understanding of teaching and learning.
- Develop the ways they can talk about teaching and learning.
- Develop the skills to mentor others.
- Be part of a purposeful, positive process.
- Create opportunities to further career progression and leadership skills.
- Increase job satisfaction.
Value and Impact
The Outstanding Teacher Programme provides participants with opportunities to engage in pedagogical discussion. They will also consider scenarios encompassing whole school teaching and learning models.
Teachers often remark that seeing outstanding practice in situ and having the chance to formulate original ideas and plans of their own are refreshing and valuable aspects of the OTP.
What Does it Involve?
The course consists of six sessions delivered during the autumn and early spring terms. Additionally, there will be practical tasks and observations.
Who is Eligible?
Teachers should be experienced - ideally, with a minumum of three years’ teaching experience.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a consistent commitment to teaching and learning, and be able to use feedback from students to evaluate and improve their practice.

The course fee is £450 per delegate. Please pay the full amount according to number of delegates by cheque, made payable to Heartlands Academy or supply a purchase order number with a contact name and address to request an invoice. Return the form either electronically or by post to:
